On Friday, my team and I
introduced to everyone our Plant Investigation. It took
a long time to finish it, but eventually we did! It was
actually a real fun project to do with our teammates!
Right before the team and I went up to show the class,
we had to figure out who was saying what. Slater did
Purpose and Data. I did Procedure and Hypothesis. Paige
did Materials and Chandler did Results and Conclusion.
After we finished, we wanted to do it again! We had a
great time working together!

Finishing up the plant reports

ideas. The lions were confused. The cougars had great

Cinquain poems
If you like art, poems and
ripping stuff you should have came to the Lair today. We
wrote poems called Cinquain poems; they are poems that have
one noun, two adjectives, three verbs, a four word phrase
and a noun. After we wrote the poems, we took paper and
ripped it up to make pictures. Most people made Christmas
poems, so they had Christmas trees, presents and snowflakes
on their pictures. A quote from Claire is, “mine is a
snowflake poem, it looked like she had fun with it so did
everyone else.

The plant projects at the
lair
Today at the lair we started to
finish our plant projects. Each team had two pieces of black
paper. The teams were typing, cutting, and also drawing the
plants how we did the experiment. I thought that the
panthers table were doing really great of helping each
other. The leopards were doing a very good job of getting
started and cleaning up. The lions were doing a splendid job
because they were saying one person does this and the other
does that. The cougars made everything go smoothly and no
one complained. Our table group the jaguars did a lot of
teamwork but we kind of got confused. Alex was doing a good
job working. We did not finish but we got a lot done. I bet
some other teams finished. Everyone was doing a great job.

Today our class room was celebrating
Thanksgiving! We had rotations which is going to every class room in
4th grade and doing different activities. In Mrs. Ness's class we
sang a song and acted out moves to it. In Ms. Ferranti's class we
got a story read to us and then we drew pictures about it and posted
them on a poster board. In Mrs. Reynolds' class we made dream
catchers out of paper plates , feathers, beads, and string. In Mrs.
Herzberg's class we played a game about hunters and animals.
Everyone went around saying what they were thankful for, most people
said they were thankful for their families, car, house, food, and
their pets, what are you thankful for?

Math in a flash
In the afternoon Ms. Ferranti’s class did some
outstanding flash cards. First our lovely teacher, Ms.Ferranti,
gave partners to us. In the middle of flashcards some of us switched
to test the opposite partner. As we did that we accidentally mixed
up the cards. So we flashcards again at the end of math. We
all did very good on multiplication facts. So you can be good at
flashcards too.

Today in the lair, the students worked on our Science
Experiment posters. First, Ms. Ferranti passed out black papers for our
posters while the Paper Passers passed out our Lab books. Then, we
started working. We worked with our team, so each team made a poster
together. Some people typed, some people drafted, some people colored
for our poster. The person who is drafting writes out what we did with
each step. The steps are purpose, question, hypothesis, materials,
procedures, data, results, and conclusions. Each person writes one or
two steps of our experiment. Then, the typer goes on the computer and
types what each team has drafted. After typing each step out, we printed
it out and glued it on the black paper. Then, we added some pictures and
we're done. The results of these work is going to be a very nice
posters.
Working on the Science Experiment is a very important part of our
day in the lair. It is also a very fun thing to do. The students are
still working hard to finish it. This is the end of the Lairs' Daily
News. Thank you for reading!

Read In
If you like read ins, then you should have
been there for this one! Today in the lair we had the best read in ever.
This is what we did. First, we had lunch in the class room. Most of us had
cheese pizza and lemonade. Next, we moved all the desks and got ready for
reading. In the middle we said what we named our stuffed animals, when we
got them, and who gave them to us. Connor said, “This is my lion and his
name is Mr. Na Na.” This is one read in I know I will never forget.

Apple
Art
If you like art and apples, head on down to D-29... Ms.
Ferranti’s room. Today the class made still art with apples. First we would
all draw the apple. Next we would take a huge bite out of the apples and draw
the apple, but for those who had braces or were allergic we would cut part of
the apple off. Then we would bite more off and draw the apple again. We would
finish this apple art with drawing the core when we finish the apple. This make
some kids that don’t like art find it fun and more interesting. Kasie says, “My
apple’s named Bob!” It looks like she had fun doing it. Today gave some
people a different way of looking at art.

took our one hour test all the way to recess. It was pretty long. After recess
we observed our fast plants. We drew pictures to go with the plant. After that we
did some fun science ativities. It was cross word puzzles and other fun
ativities!

Pacer Test
If you want to know who’s the fastest kid in class, you
should head down to Sunset Gym. First everyone had to make sure they were
ready. It started off as jogging, it got faster, and faster, and faster!! I was
very impressed with the laps of one girl named Kasie, she did an amazing amount
of laps for girls - 62!!!!!! According to the Health Fitness board it says that
the range of laps for girls in fourth grade are required to do 7-30 laps. Not
for Kasie! On the sidelines I caught up with Caroline. She said I quote,” It was
tiring and hard… you just got to drink lots of water!” It looked like everyone
needed a lot of water! Today gave us all an interesting look at the Health
and Fitness of Mrs. Ferranti’s fourth grade class!
