Salmon |
| Students study the salmon life cycle and
participate in "The Salmon in the Classroom" project. We raise and
release salmon into Lewis Creek. |
|
Electricity |
  |
| Students will learn about electricity.
This will include safety, conductors and non-conductors, open and closed
circuits as well as simple circuits, series circuits, parallel circuits,
and electro magnets. |
 |
Rocks & Minerals |
| Students learn about the layers of the
earth and plate tectonics. We will also discuss how land builds up and
wears down. Included in this unit is the Rock Cycle, which covers
sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. The student will perform
simple test to help them identify and classify various rock samples. |

Properties of
Matter |
 |
| Students learn about the three states of
matter and explore the kinds of physical and chemical changes which can
occur in matter. They will develop an understand of solution vs.
mixture. We will apply these concepts to specific investigations
using "Scientific Methods" as well as practical applications. |
|
 |
Human Body |
| Students will learn about the different body systems.
They will study the parts of each system and its function. Students will
perform simple tests to understand how the body works and develop a
power point project to demonstrate their understanding. |
