Project Description
Reading Owl in the Shower

We are reading Jean Craighead George's There's an Owl in the Shower.  This book is based on the 1990's debate on spotted owl and old growth forests.  Our focus is comprehension and several reading strategies.
   -Check for Understanding
   -Cross Check
   -Tune into Interesting Words
   -Create Mental pictures
   -Fix Up Strategies
 
Writing Paragraphs and more paragraphs.  Students are working on perfecting a solid paragraph.  This is a major foundation to fourth grade writing.  Students will be practicing writing narrative, descriptive, persuasive and expository paragraphs.
